Study in Germany with GBS
The smart way to study in Germany
Start your degree in Tunis, finish it in Germany, and graduate ready to work there.
Germany is one of the best places in the world to study and build a career, but getting there directly after high school is hard. Many students spend a year in a Studienkolleg, must already speak German, and pay German living costs from day one, before earning a single credit.
The German Business School offers another route. You begin a bachelor, a master or an engineering degree in Tunis, built to German academic standards. You learn German alongside your courses, from zero to B1 or B2, and then you move to Germany as part of your programme, to study at a partner university and do an internship in a German company.
Every semester counts towards your degree. You stay close to your family for the first years, at a fraction of the cost, and you arrive in Germany with the language, the credits and the support you need.

Studienkolleg
Do I need a Studienkolleg to study in Germany?
Not with GBS. Depending on their school-leaving certificate, many international students must first complete a Studienkolleg, a one-year foundation course, and pass the Feststellungsprüfung before a German university admits them to a bachelor's programme. Admission to a Studienkolleg itself usually requires German at B1 level or higher.
With GBS, there is no foundation year: you start your degree directly in Tunis, every semester earns ECTS credits, and you move to Germany during your degree.
| GBS route: start in Tunis | Direct route via a Studienkolleg |
| First year | First year of your degree, with ECTS credits | Foundation year, no university credits |
| German | No German needed to start: B1 or B2 reached during your studies | Usually B1 or higher required for the entrance exam |
| Language of study | English (BBA, M.Sc.), French and English (computer science, IT masters), French or English (engineering) | Mostly German |
| Living costs | Tunisian costs for the first years, close to your family | German costs and a blocked account from day one |
| Admission | Mobility to a partner university organised within your programme | Entrance exam, then a separate university application |
| Support | Visa assistance, housing support and access to our company network for your internship in Germany | Mostly on your own |
| Diplomas | Up to two: a German or German-standard degree + a Tunisian degree | One, after the full degree in Germany |
Admission rules in Germany depend on your diploma, your grades and the university. Our admissions team reviews your profile individually.

FAQ
Studying in Germany: your questions, answered
Can I study in Germany straight after high school?
Yes. With the GBS Bachelor in business (BBA) or the B.Sc. in computer science, you start right after high school in Tunis and complete your studies in Germany: the last two years in the 2+2 format, or the final year in the 3+1 format (BBA). You do not need to go through a Studienkolleg first.
Do I need a Studienkolleg?
No. GBS is not a Studienkolleg: it is an alternative to it. Instead of a foundation year with no university credits, you begin your degree directly, and every semester counts towards your diploma.
Do I need to speak German?
No. You can start from zero. German courses run alongside your studies, with B1 or B2 as the target before you leave for Germany. Your courses are taught in English (BBA, M.Sc.) or in French and English (computer science, IT masters) or in French or English (engineering).
Which diplomas will I receive?
BBA: the GBS Bachelor plus the German partner university's state degree (2+2) or the UIT Licence (3+1). Computer science: the B.Sc. from the German partner university (2+2) or the UIT Licence (3+1). Master of Science: the FIBAA-accredited M.Sc. from GBS plus a Tunisian professional master's degree from UIT. Information Systems Engineering and Cybersecurity: the UIT master's degree. Engineering: the Tunisian state engineering diploma from UIT plus an M.Sc. from the German partner university.
Which bachelor specialisations can I choose in Germany?
In the 2+2 format, you choose your specialisation for your two years in Germany. In business: International Management, Digital Marketing, Finance, Business Psychology, Creative Industries Management, Supply Chain Management, Healthcare Management or Sports Management. In computer science: Computer Science, Applied AI or Web Development. In the 3+1 BBA, you specialise in Tunis in Marketing, Management or Finance.
Can I do a Master in Germany after my bachelor's?
Yes. The GBS M.Sc. in business, and the masters in Information Systems Engineering and Cybersecurity, start in Tunis with three semesters, then continue with a semester at a partner university in Germany and a semester of internship and master thesis in a German company.
Can I work in Germany after graduating?
Your programme includes an internship in Germany, which is often the first step towards a job there. After your German M.Sc., you can apply for a job-seeker visa to look for work in Germany.
Which German universities are your partners?
GBS works with state-recognised universities in Germany. The partner university depends on your programme and profile, and our admissions team presents the options to you during your admissions call.
How much does it cost?
Fees depend on the programme and on the years spent in Germany. The first years in Tunis cost far less than living in Germany from day one. Ask our admissions team for the full fee sheet, payment plans and partial merit-based scholarship opportunities.
I am a student from Africa. Can I apply?
Yes. Apply online and interview by video. Our team helps you with your visa and accommodation in Tunis, and later with your move to Germany.
When does the programme start?
The main intake is in October. A February intake is possible in some cases. Ask our admissions team.
